Home Sweet Detroit-- For the Tenth Time

I feel like I moved in yesterday.
Friday was the first day I was really able to explore the city that I now call my home. Even though it had to be a quick exploration due to a little rain, aka a downpour, I was able to grab some good pictures of a couple streets and construction near my new place.

Bicycle Bicycle-- I Want To Ride My Bicycle

Had some down time today and decided to try out my new Nikon.
It joined the family along with my two other older big day D40 and my everyday little shinny white guy, pun intended.
So I took some pictures of my apartment and around the city a little, more to come, but settled on these two.

Can't wait to take the beaut out tomorrow.

Chapter 1

It sounds stupid and cliche but this is a new beginning for me.

I have recently been heartbroken, moved to a city where I know no one, left all my family in Michigan and all my best friends in Massachusetts, have no job, currently "dipping" into my savings and never felt so alone and proud of myself in my entire life.

I love it here.
It's great.
Obviously with being 100% completely on my own for the first time ever can make all these things amplified to a degree that could cripple anyone let alone someone that deals with daily internal struggles, like myself.

I chose to not let it take me down.
I chose to fight the emotions that can be so common for someone like me.
I chose to be.

The reason I am writing this is because I am starting a new project.
It will be a collaboration of different mediums, photography, paint, essays, etc.
You name it, I'm going to add it.
Something I have never done before.
It will be my first collection, and unfortunately for some people, it will be a tell all.
How can I be comfortable with in my skin if I can't express myself in the way that I adore?

Anyways I wanted to let all my amzing people that follow my blog and check it see what new things I am up too, to know what is coming next.

And it's me.

Tigers Kind of Night

Sorry for the lack of posting lately but with the move and work my social life and fun levels have decreased.
However, last night my two best friends, as well as Kelly's boyfriend Jeremy, came to visit my new apartment and go to the Tigers game. The game would have been fun win or lose, even though they won, but the real happiness came from being with Kelly and Claire.
They both are such a big part of my life and having them be able to take work and school off to come and support me in my big move was just amazing.

Anyways here are some pictures from last nights festivities.

New Member of the Detroit Clan--1203

Detroit here I am!
Officially a member of the Detroit family, officially at least.
The last couple days were full of lease signing, body aching, heart bursting and new hope soaring emotions.
My apartment is not only in a new city but officially on my own.
Living alone.
No parents
No roommates.
Just me.
Kinda scary, huh?
Luckily it's these kind of situations that I strive on and make me the person that I am today.
Tonight will officially be my first full day and night in 1203 and I could not be a happier camper.

And a huge shout out to my mother who without none of this would be possible.

LOADS of love-- Jessa

Detroit Eve

Today is my last day living at home.
It sounds crazy that I say that since I have been out in Massachusetts for four years now.
But this..this is really on my own.
I am moving to Detroit tomorrow to live on my own, alone for the first time ever.
At 22 it seems like it is the right time to make this move to the city I love to find the job that I will love.

To celebrate this move eve I have found some of my older pictures of Detroit that I took years ago knowing that one day I would call this city my home.

One more day- Jessa

Texas Round 2

This past June we were lucky to partake in the wedding of one of our best friends the new Lizzy Rinner WHEATLEY.
It was a short weekend full of many handshakes, booty shakes and milkshakes.
Since we were in the deep south in the summer it was very hot but the fun out did us the most with moonlight dancing in the barn after dinner and the walk back and forth to bring fans into the barn to help with the heat.
Overall it was full of laughs and cries of happiness and joy as our first friend was able to marry her best friend.

Here are some, and I say some like there isn't a large handful of pictures I am about to post, but there was a large amount to choose from.
Without further ado here is Texas in our nutshell.

Also here is the Wedding Video done by some of Chase And Lizzy's good friends.
